I didn’t know what I wanted to do for my thanksgiving post but I finally figured it out. You, my dear readers, are the ones this post is for. You have been with me through thick and thin this year. So, in light of it being Thanksgiving (Canadian Thanksgiving), I’ll say everything I’m thankful for. If you haven’t read this month’s newsletter, you can find it here: https://www.victoriamayburybooks.ca/2020/10/09/october-newsletter-2020/.
What I’m Thankful For
God is greater than I can ever imagine. He created this entire universe and yet He loves us. God loved to the point that He was willing to send His son, Jesus, to die for us even though we hated God. He gives us each and every day. He is patient towards us. It blows my mind how much I have to thank God for. He gave us everything and we can give Him so little. I’m forever thankful for God and everything He has done!
I have been able to make some great friends at Word of Life Bible Institute. It was actually hard coming back home for Thanksgiving. Even though I haven’t know them long, I feel that I will keep in touch with them for years to come. It makes me sad that the course is only a year long but it is probably the best for my wallet. I thank God for them everyday and I can’t wait to see them again today!
Evangelism week was a scary week for me. I had to go up to complete strangers and tell them about Jesus. I’m not one for talking to strangers so this really pushed me out of my comfort zone. Nevertheless, it was a good experience and it helped me rely on God more and myself less. I am thankful the week is done but I’m also thankful that it happened.
Another way God made me rely on Him more was last Friday. On Friday, at about nine at night, I lost all my computer files. Everything had been deleted, school notes, books, everything. I was shocked and mad about it but I realized that there was a lot to be grateful for. God was still good and He was still God. Meaning that I could trust Him to be doing this for a reason even if I don’t understand it quite yet.
I am also thankful for my other friends that I have made over the years. I wish we could be in touch more but with everything happening, I don’t think that is possible. My friends played an important part in my life and I’m always thankful to have met them.
I am super thankful for my family. They do so much to help me and I don’t even recognise it. I know this has been a hard year for them with more than a bit of stress. They also miss me when I’m gone so sometimes I feel guilty being so excited to go back up. I will miss them a whole bunch when I’m at school yet I miss my school friends when I’m at home. No matter where I go, I’m missing someone! I’m really thankful for my mom who always does so much to work to keep the house up and running (it really is a full time job). Thankful for my dad who always goes to work even though the pay isn’t great and the hours may be long. So very thankful to have my parents who were great role models in my life!
You, My Readers
Last but not least, I’m thankful for you, my readers! Thank you for being with me as I slowly learn how to take care of a website and blog. You have been a great encouragement to my life that people would actually want to read my work. I hope I have encouraged you too! Anyway, I best finish packing. Happy Thanksgiving 2020!
Thank you for joining me for the Thanksgiving 2020 post. I hope your Thanksgiving 2020 is so awesome and see you Friday! Thank you for your time!
